Holy Week 2024 - St. Barnabas Episcopal Church

Holy Week 2024 was a holy and memorable one, as we joined our Lord on His journey to the Cross and Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The contrasts of “Hosanna!” and “Crucify!” during the Passion narrative on Palm Sunday kicked the week off, and continued with daily Holy Eucharist Monday through Wednesday. Maundy Thursday included the night Watch in the Chapel, before holding Vigil at the foot of the Cross on Good Friday.

The Great Vigil and Solemnity of Easter rounded out the biggest week of the Christian year here, complete with an Easter egg hunt and a rousing “Hallelujah’ chorus from Handel’s “Messiah” oratorio to bring it to a joyful conclusion.
