A Time of Great Joy at St. Barnabas

This is a time of great joy and thanksgiving for the St. Barnabas Church family! On May 1, our new rector begins after a search that started almost a year ago.

The Reverend Audrey Jean Sutton, who comes to us from St. Philip’s in Wylie, Texas, stood out from all candidates as the absolute match for the qualifications the parish sought: a heart for God, for worship, for teaching the Bible and its application, serving others through pastoral care, community involvement, and missions.

Mother Audrey, her husband, Randall, and their two daughters have moved to their new home in DeLand. Following the first Sunday of her preaching on May 5, the parish will celebrate with a Cinco de Mayo-themed luncheon. On June 9, the closest Sunday to the Feast of St. Barnabas, Bishop Holcomb will officiate the Service of New Ministry for Mother Audrey’s installation.

We welcome Mother Audrey and the Suttons into their new St. Barnabas home. We continue to thank God for His goodness and the benefits of the love He has poured out on our parish family!
