Worship, Liturgy & Music

This ministry supports the clergy in carrying out the worship services of the parish, ensuring our corporate prayer and praise is reverent, beautiful, and engaging.

  • Acolytes: Assist in worship services by carrying crosses, candles, and banners.
  • Altar Guild: Prepares and maintains the altar and sanctuary for worship.
  • Choir: Our parish choir offers praise to God through traditional hymns and anthems.
  • Contemporary Music Worship: Leads our contemporary worship service, using modern Christian music to create an informal and uplifting atmosphere of praise.
  • Greeters & Ushers:
  • Handbell Choir: Performs sacred music using handbells during worship.
  • Lay Eucharistic Ministers: Serve as Lectors, Intercessors and Eucharistic Ministers.
  • Morning Prayer: Offers Daily Office readings from the Book of Common Prayer, streamed on YouTube every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 am.
  • Sanctuary Candle: The Sanctuary Candle is given weekly in Honor of the Blessed Sacrament and in memory of loved ones, for thanksgiving or an anniversary.

Christian Education & Formation

Programs that foster spiritual growth and deepen the understanding of our faith for all ages.

  • Alpha Course: Over a series of sessions, Alpha offers a space to ask the big questions of life and faith, with a meal, a talk, and open small-group discussion.
  • Baptism and Confirmation: Preparation and celebration of the sacraments of initiation into the Christian faith.
  • Centering Prayer: Group practice of silent, contemplative prayer to foster closeness with God.
  • Cursillo: A three-day weekend retreat and ongoing community designed to help Christians grow in faith and spirituality.
  • Discipleship/Journey: Guides individuals in deepening their Christian faith and spiritual walk.

Children, Youth & Family Ministry

Dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled environment for the youngest members of our church family.

  • Children’s Ministry: Nurtures children’s faith through age-appropriate programs and activities.
  • Jr. Daughters of the King: A Christian girls’ group focused on prayer, service, and spiritual growth.
  • Moms on Monday: Support and fellowship group for mothers, offering encouragement and faith-building.
  • Youth Group: Provides fellowship, service, and faith-building activities for middle and high school students.
  • Nursery: Safe and caring childcare during church services for infants and toddlers.
  • St. Barnabas Episcopal School: Our parish day school provides an outstanding academic education within a loving, Christian environment. The school is committed to nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, and physical development of its students, serving children from Pre-K through 8th Grade.

Parish Life & Fellowship

Focuses on building a strong, vibrant, and welcoming community through social gatherings and shared activities.

  • Coffee Hour: Serve refreshments during a time of fellowship and refreshments following worship services.
  • Daughters of the King: An order for women who undertake a rule of life centered on prayer, service, and evangelism.
  • Hospitality: Organizes and coordinates events and gatherings to ensure a warm, welcoming environment.
  • Men’s Prayer Breakfast: A gathering for men to share breakfast, fellowship, and prayer.
  • Wednesday Potluck & Bible Study
  • St. Barnabas Elders: For those 50 and older, this group meets monthly for a meal and vibrant discussion.

Pastoral Care & Support

Provides confidential comfort, support, and prayer for parishioners in times of need, sickness, or grief.

  • Alzheimer’s Support Group: Ministers to the caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
  • Bereavement Reception: Hosts a reception When a member of St. Barnabas or someone in their family passes away.
  • Grief Group: Support for those who have lost a loved one.
  • Order of St Luke: Ministry dedicated to Christian healing through prayer and study.
  • Lay Eucharistic Visitors: Bring communion to those unable to attend church.
  • Prayer Chain: Network of members praying for church and community needs.
  • Prayer Shawl: Volunteers knit or crochet shawls to comfort those in need of prayer or healing.

Outreach & Missions

Leads our efforts to serve God by serving our neighbors, both locally and globally, and partnering with organizations that share our call to action.

  • Episcopal Counseling Center: Offers professional counseling services grounded in Christian values.
  • Faith at Work: Operates a food pantry, providing essential groceries and support to the local community.
  • Gideons
  • Honduras Mission: In partnership with the Episcopal Church in Honduras,
  • St. Barnabas has regularly sent teams to our companion parishes in for many years, to build relationships in Christ’s love, face to face and heart to heart
  • Kairos: Prison ministry sharing Christ’s love with incarcerated individuals.
  • Operation Christmas Child: Collects and sends gift-filled shoe-boxes to children in need worldwide.

Stewardship & Technical

Manages the physical resources of the church, ensuring good stewardship of the gifts God has entrusted to us.

  • Audio/Video Team: Technical team supporting sound and visual needs for worship and events.
  • Building and Grounds: Maintains and cares for church facilities and property.
  • Digital Media: Manages the church’s online presence, including livestreams, social media, and digital communications.
  • Garden Design: Beautifies and maintains church grounds and gardens.
